SPace for community & connection to grow

We host monthly gatherings that bring people together across ages and backgrounds to connect, have genuine conversations, and build community in Metro Vancouver. We're intentional about creating a warm, welcoming and connective 'third space' (places outside of home - first space- and work/school - second space - to be around community) where there's no networking pressure or phone scrolling - just good people and thoughtful chats. Plus, we always have dessert.Want to get notified about our next gathering?

About Third Space

Third Space Gatherings is a community-led, not-for-profit initiative under the BC Societies Acts. Our purpose is to foster social connection, belonging, and community.Through our recurring gatherings, we create space for meaningful connections to form across diverse backgrounds, generations, and perspectives. We strive to foster a welcoming and inclusive space where relationships can grow over time and a sense of community can build, while also connecting people to the third spaces in their neighbourhoods that foster community every day.Our hope is to strengthen collective capacity to participate as engaged neighbours, community members, and contributors to civic life.

What to expect at our monthly gatherings

Join us on the last Wednesday of every month for:

  • Activities to meet new people

  • Inspiring talks from local community-builders

  • Small group conversations

  • A ‘live community board’ to share what’s happening around the city

  • Open space to just hangout

Our monthly gatherings - Third Space Nights - are designed to make connection easier, with friendly faces welcoming you, guided activities, and conversation prompts. Each gathering explores a theme that sparks meaningful conversation - like how to meet neighbours in a big city or how food brings us together. Themes are just a starting point - where conversations go is up to you.Gatherings are free or by-donation and spots are limited to keep the space connective. Locations vary, but are always centrally located in Vancouver in community-oriented spaces. Come on your own or bring a friend - most people come solo!
